Based on my role on the INUS Board, we initially organized three multidisciplinary congresses under the INUS name in Tehran, along with seven joint-session seminars/webinars between INUS and the Iranian Urological Association (IUA). These events were very successful and paved the way for a multidisciplinary approach to patient care in fields such as neurology, neurosurgery, and colorectal surgery.
Two years ago, I managed to promote INUS at the UAE Urological Society Congress (EUSC) and the Arab Association of Urology (AAU) through Professor Yasser Farahat, establishing joint session activities. We had planned to have an INUS session in 2023 in Kuwait, but due to limited slots, Professors Helmut Madersbacher and Thomas Kessler agreed to collaborate on a session in Qatar in 2024 (November 21-24), which will feature a state-of-the-art lecture in the main hall.
After extensive efforts and hundreds of emails to arrange it, INUS finally had a state-of-the-art lecture delivered by President Prof. Thomas Kessler. The lecture was very successful.
Another achievement for INUS was organizing a meeting between Professor Kessler and Professor Yasser Farahat (President of the Emirates Urological Society, Secretary General of AAU, and President of Asian Urology). The meeting was excellent, with Prof. Kessler explaining INUS's mission and providing insights to Professor Farahat and Professor Fouzi (from ICS) about INUS’s activities, such as workshops and teaching courses on urinary incontinence, including four live surgery sessions in Tehran.
Moving forward, INUS will engage in more activities, including joint sessions, workshops, and online courses in collaboration with the AAU and EUSC.
